It’s manageable, understandable, and not frustrating.

Some translations are incorrect, and with the “robot” voices, it can throw the learners off with pronunciation. BUT ITS AWESOME!!

Could there possibly be a human voice instead of a robotic one.

This is probably the best language app I’ve used this is helpful because I like South Africa

I’ve only been learning for a short time but it seems to be very straightforward

My wife is from South Africa and wants me to learn Afrikaans, I was struggling to find a good learning guide and stumbled across Mondly, my wife loves it because it’s teaching me the basics, she only rolled her eyes at mineral water because apparently it’s not common at all to say 🤣

This is good but the ai used is so unclear to hear like my wife is struggling to make out what is said.

Great app to learn Afrikaans.

The lessons are slow and thorough. Only problem is they use a bot voice which gives you no idea how to peony the words properly.

Quick, fast and easy way to learn basic Afrikaans. Very user friendly app too.

its such an easy language and they simplify it sm so its easy to learn i love this

I’ve been on it for about an hour straight, going from English to Afrikáans seems to be decently easy in my opinion. I’d be more than happy to play $10 a month. We all spend $10 on useless stuff, why not pay it to learn a language on a good app?

I can’t get past the robotic voice. If this is fixed I’d actually consider a subscription but it’s hard to understand and quite frankly, annoying.

My husband speaks Afrikaans and I’m using this app to learn to speak it and doing really well! My husband does admit as a native speaker some of the words and phrases aren’t realistic only because they talk to slang. Overall, I am so happy I found this app to help me learn the new language!

I’m trying to learn Afrikaans but the text to speech is so bad it’s hard to understand how to pronounce anything.

Please stop advertising the premium service everytime I complete a lesson. I don’t want the premium service, this is just annoying.

Wish the man’s voice didn’t sound like a robot though! Very similar to Duolingo

The Afrikaans words are read by some kind of robot so you don’t get to hear the proper pronunciation of the language. Didn’t have this issue on Android and I don’t see anywhere in the settings where you can change the voice. UPDATE: Support reached out and after downloading the Mondly app (non language specific) and then choosing your language as Afrikaans from within that app the voice works great just like the Android version. Still left as two stars because this is still confusing and this app should should be removed from the App Store or they just fix the voice on it.

Very pleased with the lessons. Have a coworker who speaks this language so I get tested daily. Great app

Application makes it easy to learn Afrikaans

It’s okay, but it could do with some improvements

Trying to upgrade a free trial and purchase subscription and not having any luck. Going to looks other apps that have better support and aren’t as confusing. Also, found a few errors since I’m getting tutored and wasn’t sure if I was wrong or the app was and the tutor confirmed the app had incorrect information.

Love this app. It’s super awesome!

You forget you learning

Hi, I love this app and I commend you for the excellent GUI as well as practical, easy to grasp lessons. One problem for me is the robot voices. I want to sound like a local not like a droid from Star Wars haha (no offense!). But can you please add human voices as soon as possible? I will immediately update this to 5 stars. Thank you developers

I learned a lot on the first day of using the app.

App works well in all aspects. The material is there, just up to the user to absorb the info. Go slow and revisit some lessons or you will quickly forget. So far I recommend the app to whoever wants to learn Afrikaans.

I’m brushing up on my Afrikaans for an upcoming trip to South Africa. It’s been years since I’ve used any Afrikaans, written or spoken, and the app is really helping me get back what I’ve lost.

I would give it 4 if they did not have the robot voice. The female voice is good much better.

It helps you learn quick any easy by repeating things multiple times to ensure you retain it and don’t forget along the way. Excellent language teaching tool to have access to!!

I was practicing phrases with a South African local over WhatsApp, and he mentioned I was saying certain things in Dutch. I met him in Cape Town and hopefully we can be together one day. However, I still would love to learn the language but unsure if the app developers had any intentions of mixing Dutch in the learning. It’s understandable with the history of colonization but I would prefer more authenticity.

I find the daily exercises and the lessons very helpful.

I don’t know if I’m just slow but the voices sound computerized. It’s very difficult to pick up accents.

I have looked for something like Duolingo or Rosetta Stone for Afrikaans for years, so I’m so happy I found this app. It does a great job connecting words and phrases to images and helps piece things together in a quick and effective way.

Don’t have any word is super helpful

I just bought a yearly premium subscription and I don’t have access. The payment has gone through that allows access and I’m still yet to be able to access my lessons. Please fix this.
